Inclement weather policy
During snow or icy conditions, we follow the direction of the school districts in which our offices or service sites are located, which include Federal Way Public Schools, Kent School District, and Highline School District, unless otherwise specified. You can anticipate that if there are school delays or closures due to school bus transportation concerns (for example snow or ice), that MSC will be experiencing an opening delay or closure. If there is an opening delay or closure affecting our Federal Way location, the food bank will not be open to clients.
For other school closures, such as power outages, MSC offices will remain open unless there are direct impacts to one of our location that inhibit our ability to safely open and/or provide services.
MSC will post notifications of any opening delays or closures on our website, as well as our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
If you have an in-person appointment that is scheduled during a delayed opening or closure, MSC staff will reach out to you to reschedule your appointment.
