Your Voice Matters
October 27, 2026 | Note from the CEO

Dear Community,
Fall’s arrival brings a seasonal shift – and an entrance into election season. Voting is a vital way to express our values by who we elect to make decisions in policy that impact each and every one of us in our communities.
While there are lots of ways in which we differ in our viewpoints and experience, we can all agree that everyone deserves access to healthy food, warmth, and housing. Each way we decide to engage in the political process and policies impacts people directly, day in and day out.
It impacts kids, older adults, and folks that may need ongoing care because they are unable to live independently. It impacts families who may hold multiple jobs and juggle child care, all while getting food on their tables, paying for gas, and deciding between school supplies or medical care. It impacts our immigrant community members, some of whom are no longer able to receive SNAP benefits or Medicaid for healthcare. They are living in an unknown without the safety net of food and caring for their well-being.
The decisions made in the way we vote have real life impacts to ourselves, our families, our friends, our colleagues, and our neighbors.
Thank you for making your voice heard, in a time when it is pivotal to show up for the well-being of our communities. And to advocate for the health of neighbors, to uphold the safety net while unraveling continues to happen on a large scale.
Your voice matters – and your vote matters.
We are better together.
