Multi-Service Center is thrilled to announce the appointment of Kirsten York as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective October 2, 2023.
Kirsten, an accomplished and visionary leader, brings a wealth of experience to MSC. With a proven track record of driving growth and leadership through an equity lens, she is poised to lead MSC into a new era of success and service toward our mission of building a future without poverty for our neighbors in South King County.
“We are delighted to welcome Kirsten as our new CEO. Her exceptional leadership skills, strategic insights, and deep knowledge of community action agencies makes her the ideal choice to lead Multi-Service Center,” shared Joe Atkinson, MSC Board President. “We have great confidence in Kirsten’s ability to steer MSC towards even greater achievements in the future.”
In Kirsten’s previous role as CEO of a community action agency, she successfully led the organization through its first leadership transition in fifty years, while also enhancing the organization’s capacity to provide meaningful services to the community. Her commitment to social, racial, and community justice aligns perfectly with MSC’s core values, making her an excellent cultural fit for the organization.
Kirsten brings 15 years of direct service and non-profit leadership experience to MSC. Her work has focused on uprooting inequitable systems, uplifting communities, and repairing harm done to the most vulnerable members of our communities. Kirsten obtained her Master of Public Administration with a focus in public policy and nonprofit management from The Evergreen State College in Olympia.
Please join MSC in extending a warm welcome to Kirsten as she embarks on this exciting journey as our CEO following the retirement of Robin Corak, who has served as CEO since 2012. Robin played a pivotal role in MSC’s growth and achievements during her tenure, and MSC extends its gratitude for her significant contributions. We look forward to an era of continued growth, innovation, and success under Kirsten’s leadership.
