Feeding our neighbors is something we can all get behind. No family, child, or individual should be without a meal each day. And even better if we can offer a variety of meals, including warm options and fresh fruits and vegetables, that are culturally relevant, satisfying, and delivered with care, compassion, and comprehensive support services. That’s what MSC’s Food Bank does each and every day with the significant help of hundreds of volunteers.

Through the pandemic and after, MSC’s Food Bank and others around the state are seeing a steady increase in the demand for these services. We are serving over a thousand individuals each week seeking food from our Federal Way location.

Unfortunately, statewide funding is returning to pre-pandemic levels while the demand continues to rise. With the upcoming legislative session starting with a budget deficit, it is pivotal and vital for folks like you to advocate for funding for food banks and food distribution in the state of Washington.

There are so many other ways for you to support the Food Bank and get involved. Want to volunteer? Sure! Want to pick up food donations from local grocery stores and businesses? Great! And you can be part of our new #hungersquad by signing up for as little as $5 a month to support our Food Bank.

Each and every person in our community deserves to have food to eat, for nourishment and health. Thank you for being an advocate for food security in South King County!
