Delaney reached out to MSC’s employment program looking for help to find a job. She was behind on her internet and phone bills, did not have access to transportation, and did not have a copy of her Social Security card or a resume to provide to potential employers. These were all proving to be barriers to Delaney finding employment.
With the help of MSC’s employment case manager, Delaney was able to obtain a copy of her Social Security Card and create a resume. MSC was able to help her get caught up with her overdue bills and provided with an ORCA card to go to interviews as well as back and forth from work once she found a job.
In talking with Delaney, the case manager learned that she was interested in retail or customer service work, but also had career dreams that would require additional training. The case manager helped Delaney complete job applications and also helped enroll her in a free training program to achieve her long-term career goals. A month and a half after connecting with MSC’s employment program, Delaney was employed in a part-time position and her long-term career training begins in May!
Each participant in MSC’s employment program has their own unique story as it relates to challenges they face, skills they possess, and their long-term career goals. We help people find employment while addressing underlying barriers to successful employment, providing them with the resources to reach their goals.
