Multi-Service Center and the services we provide are fundamentally successful because of all of our amazing volunteers! Last year, 724 volunteers provided close to 40,000 hours of service at MSC.
We have many different areas in which our community members donate their time and talents. This month we celebrate all of the folks who take the time to serve our organization and our community members. Whether it’s one hour or a thousand hours – each one is valuable.
Did you know that our Board of Directors are all volunteers? They dedicate themselves to the support and guidance of the whole organization, dedicating their expertise in many different ways to ensure MSC can continue to meet the needs of our community with the services we provide.
The Food Bank hosts 175 volunteers each and every month. This is one of the largest areas in which volunteers engage with us – from packing food boxes, delivering them to homes, picking up groceries from stores, providing support during distribution day, and lots of other ways they support getting food to those who need it.
Our Long-Term Care Ombudsman program is the other largest area for volunteers with over 150 volunteers providing advocacy and support to residents of long-term care facilities throughout the year.
Our events are another way in which volunteers engage with us. They help with all aspects of our largest fundraising event, Spring into Action, ensuring guests have a positive experience while raising money for MSC and all our programming.
At our William J. Wood Veterans House, volunteers support the veterans living in this community and empower them to live in a supportive environment. This complex comes with VA and MSC case management, support from partners in the community, and facilitation of building an internal community for other veterans living there.
We cannot express in words how much our volunteers mean to us! They allow MSC’s services to make a robust, positive impact in the community serving over 77,000 individuals last year. Thank you volunteers!
